Crisis Support Helper (Resource delivery to families in Nuneaton, Bedworth and surrounding areas)
Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.
We are working flat out to ensure that we continue to provide essential support to children and families. We are still providing one-to-one support to the most vulnerable children with complex needs and we are redesigning many services, so our staff can provide effective support either online through new digital solutions, by phone or through care packages delivered to family homes.
In order to do this, we need the help of a team of dedicated and essential volunteers who are happy to help out with a variety of tasks to ensure that we are able to support our service users at this difficult time.
Maternal circles are at the forefront of early intervention when it comes to supporting children and families. Commissioned by the ICB Health Equalities Fund, we are supporting women to access their antenatal appointments at George Eliot hospital and in the community, plus providing additional support to our service users, improving their overall pregnancy journey. We provide: - Free transport to antenatal appointments. - Peer support through 121 meetings, training events & coffee mornings. - Advice on the pregnancy journey, accessing housing, benefits, and any other services that will benefit mother & baby. - Support in accessing food, clothing & baby resources. We’re currently looking for a volunteer to work with our service to collect resources and deliver them to vulnerable families homes.
