Children's Activity Support - Group Helper (Supporting 6-18 year olds with special educational needs and disabilities, Liverpool)
Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.
Children’s Activity Support volunteers work across a range of groups, from Children’s Centre’s with pre-school children and Short Breaks services for children with disabilities, to Mental Health Support Groups and Young Carers Groups.
We are looking for volunteers, with a passion for making a difference in children’s lives, a fun and approachable attitude and an ability to engage young people in worthwhile and enjoyable activities. This role may involve a level of personal care.
Barnardo’s Liverpool Short Breaks Service is a newly commissioned service by Liverpool City Council, designed to provide essential short breaks for children and young people aged 6-18 with special educational needs and disabilities. Our service aims to support families by offering quality play and leisure activities while providing parents with much-needed respite. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team and make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
Our Short Break sessions will be delivered from Palmerston School, Aigburth, L17 6AU.
During term time, sessions will take place Monday - Thursday (3:30pm - 8:00pm) and weekends (9:00am - 5:00pm). In school holidays, sessions will take place Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm).
