Special Educational Needs Champion (Bradford)

Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.

Barnardo’s SEN Champions provide information, advice and support to children/young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the parents/carers.

Bradford SENDIASS service is for parents and carers of children and young people 0-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the Bradford area. We also support children and young people 0-25 with SEND.

The Bradford SENDIASS service offers free, impartial, and confidential information, advice and support on education, and health and social care needs in relation to SEND.

We are looking for Barnardo’s SEN Champions to: support children and young people's participation in group sessions; prepare resources for group sessions , and provide impartial information and support to children, young people with SEND and their parents.

We are looking for volunteers who are excellent communicators and looking to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and their families.
