Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.

Family Support volunteers work across a range of groups, from Parenting Groups, the Freedom Programme and Mental Health Support Groups to Family and Learning and Adult Education courses.

‘Baby Steps’ are groups for 0-9 month and 9-24 month old babies and their parents. The group is aimed at helping attendees to gain confidence following the covid-19 restrictions where they have not had the opportunities to attend ‘regular’ groups and build networks with other families.

Groups are taking place initially in Lyndey, Matson (Gloucester) and Dursley but will be launching in other Centres and community venues across the Stroud, Forest of Dean and Gloucester areas.

We are looking for volunteers with a passion for supporting children and their families, who are fun and approachable and are able to engage parents and children in a range of activities, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
