Family Support - Group Helper (Winchester & Andover)

Barnardo’s is committed to providing ‘Better Outcomes for More Children’. Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference.

Hampshire Healthy Families is a partnership between Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Barnardo’s. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to support us. Our volunteers are highly valued members of our team supporting us and health visitors in the delivery of services and workshops to families.

Our volunteers can:

• Support our “new parent” social walking groups (Ready Steady Walk);
• Support with the delivery of Hampshire Healthy Heroes sessions in Early Years settings;
• Support the delivery of our courses and workshops to parents in the local community. (Five to Thrive; Two and Beyond; Family Food & Fun, Baby & Toddler Talk).
• Meet and Greet in a Child Health Clinic or a 3/4 month contact group.
• Support with community events promoting key health messages

We are looking for volunteers, with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives, a fun and approachable attitude and an ability to engage parents and carers. This volunteering opportunity is available weekdays during the day only.
